148. “The Load Out” is a song by Jackson Browne, that was written by Jackson Browne and Bryan Garofalo. It is most often combined with “Stay” that was written by Maurice Williams. The songs are an affectionate tribute to the concert roadies and staff that are responsible for unloading and loading all the equipment before and after the show, a process known as “The Load Out”. The show is done, but Browne is not ready to stop, and begs the roadies, the promoters, and the audience to stay for at least one more song.
