The Frying Pan

198. “The Frying Pan” is a humorous take on a “Dear John letter” that was written by John Prine. “I come home from work this evening / There was a note in the frying pan / It said, ‘fix your own supper, babe / I run off with the Fuller brush man” Although it was one of the first two song written by Prine (the other written at the same time was “Sour Grapes) neither were released until his second album Diamonds in the Rough. If you understand the “Fuller brush man” reference, congratulations – you’re really old.
