The Shape I’m In

129. “The Shape I’m In” is a song that was written by Robbie Robertson and first recorded by The Band as part of their 1970 Stage Fright album. The song is probably a reference to bandmate Richard Manuel’s long-time depression. Manuel sings lead vocal and plays clavinet on the song. In 1986 he committed suicide.
