206. “One Love” was originally recorded by The Wailers in 1965, and again in 1967 by Bob Marley and The Wailers. The song incorporates parts of the Impressions song “People Get Ready” and the 1965 version gave songwriting credits to both Curtis Mayfield and Bob Marley. The later version only listed Bob Marley. Marley’s idea was that we should stop war and become one, similar to the theme expressed in John Lennon’s song “Imagine.”
